Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers-award

For the second year in a row, U.S News and World Report has named Central Ohio Urology Surgery Center to its “Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers” list with the most prestigious additonal honor of being “High Performing” among urology ASC’s across the nation.

Only two urology ASCs in the state of Ohio are recognized as “High Performing,” and Central Ohio Urology Surgery Center is the only urology ASC high performer in the Columbus area.

Congratulations to Central Ohio Urology Surgery Center for this extraordinary achievement – and for setting the national standard in urologic surgery!

U.S. News evaluated 4,357 surgery centers in four separate specialty areas. Of the 708 urology ASCs evaluated across the country, 63 high performers were identified.

“U.S. News’ 2025 Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers ratings highlight the top performing surgery centers in the procedures evaluated, giving consumers the confidence to make informed, data-driven decisions when choosing an ASC,” said Chelsey Wen, senior health data analyst at U.S. News. “Facilities ranked ‘best’ by U.S. News demonstrate on average up to 35% fewer emergency department visits compared with all ASCs evaluated by U.S. News.”

For urology procedures, patients at U.S. News-rated Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers had on average a 36% lower severity-weighted complication rate compared to all ASCs evaluated by U.S. News.

Urology outpatient services offered at ASCs include surgical treatment for kidney stones, enlarged prostate glands, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, male fertility preservation, prostate cancer and more.

Ambulatory surgery centers were evaluated based on objective, risk-adjusted measures of their patients’ outcomes, including how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes. To ensure fair comparisons among ambulatory surgery centers, the analysis accounted for each patient’s pre-existing conditions and other risk factors.
