Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer among men, and about 170,000 new cases of prostate cancer will occur this year. Fortunately, most cases that are found early are successfully cured. Prostate cancer may cause no symptoms in its early stages, so regular prostate cancer screening is recommended.
Erectile dysfunction, also called ED or impotence
Erectile dysfunction affects more than 3 million men a year in the U.S. It can be a lifelong condition that is a sign of a physical or psychological condition. The main symptom is a man’s inability to attain or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. There are a wide range of treatments available.
Peyronie’s disease (curved penis)
This disease is caused when scar tissue, called plaque, forms inside the penis, causing curved erections that can be painful. While most men with Peyronie’s disease can still have sex, for some it can be painful and cause erectile dysfunction.
Low testosterone, diminished sex drive
As we age, the production of testosterone begins to decline. This decrease typically begins around the age of 30 and continues to decline. With low testosterone levels, not only does sexual drive and performance diminish, but the body will also start losing muscle mass and strength while increasing body fat. Low levels of energy, fatigue and depression, as well as decreased motivation, optimism and sense of well-being, are all common ailments of low testosterone.
Ejaculatory dysfunction is the most common sexual disorder among men. There are four main types of ejaculatory disorders: 1) premature ejaculation, 2) retrograde ejaculation, 3) delayed ejaculation (orgasm) and 4) anorgasmia. Like erectile dysfunction, the cause may be physical and/or psychological.
