Veterans’ Prostate Cancer Legislation Passes House

 In Industry News

Central Ohio Urology Group is excited to announce the passage of H.R. 6092, the Veteran’s Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act. This important piece of bipartisan legislation was introduced earlier this year by Rep. Neal Dunn, MD (R-FL-2), a urologist, and Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-SC-1). H.R. 6092 unanimously passed the U.S. House of Representatives on September 22 and must now be introduced and passed in the U.S. Senate.

More About H.R. 6092

Prostate cancer is the number one cancer diagnosed in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). It is critical for veterans who may be at high-risk for prostate cancer to seek preventative clinical services for early detection and successful treatment of the disease. With the introduction of the Veteran’s Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act (H.R. 6092), there is now an opportunity for the VA to provide a substantial improvement to the research and evidence-based treatments for veterans suffering or who are at high-risk of developing prostate cancer.

You can help the Veteran’s Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act continue to move forward by urging your U.S. Senators to introduce this legislation to the Senate before Congress adjourns for the year. Urge them to support H.R. 6092 today!
