Central Ohio Urology Group Announces Promotions and Additions to its Leadership

Central Ohio Urology Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Jay Rom, as well as the addition of Matt Snider and Elizabeth “Liz” Schoen to the senior management team.

Jay Rom, MBA, CPA, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Matt Snider, MBA, has joined the company as Chief Information Officer.

Elizabeth “Liz” Schoen, JD, now serves as Chief Administrative, Legal and Compliance Officer.


Jay Rom, MBA, CPA has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. It is with great admiration and respect for his style of management and leadership that we make this change during challenging times.

Mr. Rom has been with the company for just over a year, and during this time has helped lead the reshaping of our Ambulatory Surgery Center. He has also taken over leadership of all ancillary services and clinical operations.

He has over twenty-five years of experience in the healthcare field, serving in executive leadership roles with a payer, a hospital, medical groups and an ambulatory surgery center company. He was the Finance Director/Controller for Western Ohio Healthcare, a large HMO in Dayton, Ohio, acquired by United Healthcare.   He then served as Vice President of Physician Service for the Franciscan Health System. He has been CEO of Cardiology Associates of Cincinnati and Professional Radiology, Inc. Mr. Rom was a founding partner and President of Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners, LLC, a venture capital backed company that developed or acquired, and managed over fifteen surgery joint ventures across the US.

Matt Snider, Chief Information Officer, has been instrumental in the launch of Central Ohio Urology Group’s new Telehealth program. His organizational skills and managerial style are a great complement to our mission, vision and values.

Mr. Snider is a seasoned IT Leader with 20 years of experience spanning the government, finance, manufacturing and healthcare sectors. He has vast has experience in IT integration, consolidation and automation.  Most recently, he served as Director of Infrastructure for Quantum Health, a healthcare navigation provider for self-insured organizations.

Mr. Snider has an MBA from Franklin University and received a B.S. in Network and Communication Management from DeVry University. Mr. Snider also served in the United States Marine Corps.

Elizabeth “Liz” Schoen, Chief Administrative, Legal and Compliance Officer, is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience assisting healthcare providers and entities in legal, compliance and business matters. In the past few years, she served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a large physician-owned multispecialty practice in Northwest Georgia, as well as a large ENT practice in the Atlanta area. She has also represented other specialty medical practices, some of which are private-equity backed, in the areas of gastroenterology, ENT, audiology, gynecology, ophthalmology and podiatry.

Ms. Schoen previously served as General Counsel for a specialty hospital in Atlanta, the Shepherd Center, and as VP of Compliance and Assistant General Counsel for the Georgia Hospital Association. Before that, she was Managing Director for PwC’s Southeast Compliance Practice and Senior Manager for KPMG’s national Compliance Consulting Practice. As part of its national honors recruitment program, she began her career as Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Atlanta, where she represented the OIG, CMS (previously HCFA) and PHS. At HHS, in addition to gaining significant experience in Medicare and Medicaid regulatory matters, including fraud and abuse, she also gained substantial expertise in bankruptcy matters as she defended HHS in numerous Chapter 11 filings by hospitals.

Ms. Schoen received her Juris Doctorate degree from Emory University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree with honors from Connecticut College. She also received an Executive Certificate in Business Strategy (“Mini MBA”) from the Coles College of Business in Kennesaw, Georgia.
